Candace Hester “The Paint Lady”

A native of Dayton, Ohio, and a graduate of Alabama A&M University, I hold a B.A. in Commercial Art and Graphic Design. I started my business, Party Plus Paint, to provide a fun unique social experience or a simple way to relax and unwind, and release depending on your venue!

My business and I have evolved so much and offer so much more I switched the name to do business as Candace Plus Paint at the beginning of 2021 to better encompass everything.

To be brutally honest, my art business started as a solution to my anxiety depression. Back in 2005, I was in a beautiful blossoming relationship with my fiancé, and my dreams were shattered when he brutally gunned down.

It rocked my world and completely derailed me from life as I knew it.

Starting my art business, was my answer to fighting back and to navigating through the journey to finding a semblance of peace and happiness from my great loss. Creating art has truly been my release.

Party Plus Paint is more than just a paint party—it’s an immersive, feel-good creative experience designed for everyday people, not just artists. Built on the belief that creativity lives in everyone, Party Plus Paint creates a welcoming, judgment-free space where guests can relax, unwind, and freely express themselves through art.

Whether you’ve never picked up a paintbrush or you’re simply looking for a creative escape, each session is thoughtfully guided to help you create a piece of art you can truly be proud of. The atmosphere is intentionally uplifting, supportive, and fun—making it easy to let go of pressure, quiet the noise of everyday life, and just be present in the moment.

Guests consistently describe the experience as calming and therapeutic. Painting becomes more than an activity—it becomes a form of self-care. The process encourages mindfulness, reduces stress, and provides a rare moment of peace and personal freedom. Laughter, connection, and creativity flow naturally, turning each event into a memorable and meaningful experience.
